The Amazon or jungle region, is located to the east of the Andes, is one of the most accessible and traveler-friendly areas. The Junge has unique species of flora like 4500 different kinds of orchids; and wildlife such as butterflies, bats, monkeys, parrots, wildcats, caimans, frogs and more.
The Ecuadorian Amazon offers a wide range of activities including swimming, canoe trips, rain forest walks, bird watching, animal spotting and visits to local communities.
The Amazon has the aproximately a 5% of the total population ,mainly stablished on towns and communities; the local activities are related to oil production and tourism.
