ECUADOR SERVICE PROGRAM IN THE AMAZON REGION

Itinerary 6-11

Day 6 AMAZON
After breakfast you will continue your work at the community. This afternoon you will have time for integration with the community.  Soccer games with the community members or handicraft lessons taught by the women of the area are some optional activities you are welcome to join.

Day 7 AMAZON
Today you will finish up the work in the morning, and during the afternoon you will plant a tree, this will be a contribution for the rainforest rescue programme carried out by the members of the communities.

Day 8 RAFTING
After breakfast, you will be ready to try one of the best rivers for rafting. It is a class 3 river; the Jatunyacu river in the Llanganates National Park. On the raft you can see people looking for gold or just admire the beauty of the primary forest from the river. We will end at the Napo River, the biggest in the Ecuadorian Amazon Region. This will be a full day activity. After rafting back to the hotel and last evening in the jungle (cultural activity with the local community).

Day 9 QUITO
Today you will return back to Quito. On the way you will stop in Papallacta where you will enjoy a traditional trucha dish (a typical fish on the Andes), and continue your way back to Ecuador’s capital city.  Dinner at the hotel.

Day 10 QUITO
Back to the city, you’ll have your breakfast and enjoy a nice city tour in Quito´s old town, declared Patrimony for the Humanity by UNESCO. A fabulous view of the whole city from El Panecillo, a hill near the old town will allow you to take good photos.

After lunch you will visit the Middle of the World Monument and learn about the experiments that show why Ecuador is located in the Equator line (Lat 0’ Long 0`).

Day 11
Enjoy your last breakfast in Ecuador, and say good bye to your guide before heading to the airport..
