The children of the community are the ones who need more help from us, as many of their parents have migrated to the big cities looking for better paid jobs, and they have stayed with their relatives in many cases.
You can take part on the following activities, to give a hand to these families:

• Assistance at the local schools (children between 6-12 years). Generally there’s one teacher for the whole school, therefore any help with the children is welcome.
• Help at the reforestation programmes, maintenance of the paths on the local Ecological Reserve.
• Work at the community “mingas”. This term means “work in groups”. Some communities specially in the Andes still have this work system. They generally get together once a month on a weekend and work on a small project the community needs. They will be happy to work with you on: roads improvement, maintenance of the school facilities, improvement of home stays of elder people of the community who live by themselves.

 
The above mentioned activities can be developed by the groups, according to the dates of arrival; please take into consideration that rainy season lasts until late March.
