Program Overview
Ecuador is a country of young people. The population under 18 years old represents 41% approx of the national population (2.551.821 boys and 2.499.267 girls. 13% of the population is between 0-5 years old, 16% is 6-12 years old and 12% between 13-16 years old, according to the survey developed by UNICEF in 2007.
The Ecuadorian Government tries to accomplish the objectives in terms of education and health care for the population, therefore public hospitals and local NGO’s collaborate thru different programs.
In Quito, the Children’s Hospital works with approx 50 local doctors to attend the demand of 250 children approx from all regions of the country, therefore the help of volunteers is much appreciated to ensure that children rights are achieved

Accomodation: Homestay or student residence.
Meals: Half board, 7 days a week.

Program duration: Minimum two weeks +
Requirements: Minimum age 21. Intermediate Spanish level
Volunteers should have an entusiastic attitude and knowledge on the medical field, Doctors, nurses, paramedics. Students in the medical field, according to availability.
